How do I plan a successful camping trip without over stressing so I can enjoy it too?

Hello,The easiest way is to make a list of items you need.Start with the tent and work through the items as if you are setting up your camp,etc-tent,sleeping items, cooking items, shower items, lights & first aid items. Then move on to the important items, like beer & wine for the end of the day.
Hope this helps, remember the goal is to enjoy your adventure and relax.
Cheers.

I’m ready to go camping now, but its still to cold for my wife. I miss the good old days when we camped year round. I enjoy reading anything about camping and outdoor cooking related. Thx.

Thanks for the list! I’d love to add familycampman.com to it. BTW, the best way to build your list is to just do a google search initially and then adjust with your own experience. Each person/family has their own unique needs/wants when camping.

What a great compilation of sites! It’s almost camping time.

Don’t forget to check out New Jersey Campgrounds”

What a fun and helpful site

Scott Claflin March 25, 2010 at 12:41 pm

I have to agree about the lists. Camping and hiking are both very situational. It all depends on where you’re going, who you’re going with, the time of year, and whether you are primitive camping or in a campground that has sites with electricity and water.

Ruth Chase April 1, 2010 at 8:43 am

I’m still hoping to add my blog to your list. http://campinginstyle.blogspot.com/ mostly because I think it will apeal to family campers, new campers and woman who are afraid to camp.

Also going through you list of bloggs the Camping Forever is no longer active or even that worthwhile. I put many of your listed bloggs on my site because they were good resources as well.

Thanks again and happy bocci ball playing!

Love the site. I always find it a problem to find good camping info. This site helps greatly in that search.

matt April 13, 2010 at 6:16 pm

Looking for wilderness camping in the Northern VA/D.C./MD/DE areas, where I can have a reasonable campfire and enjoy a beer or two. Any ideas?
Would like mountains and streams and live by the “leave no trace” credo but would like a campfire. I know some are opponents of fires outside of traditional campgrounds but a responsible camper using an already established fire pit/ring should have no worries.

U are right with this list. Thanks a lot!

I like the idea of the blog list…Thanks!

For your readers interested in a quiet outdoor camping experience for tent or RV I have found National Forest Sno-parks to be a great unknown destination. Throughout the Western US anyone can camp free all SUMMER.

The USFS provides basic services (different by ranger district) and all have plenty of space for RV and ATV parking. Some even include shelters with stoves, tables & chairs, ATV & horse staging areas and wilderness hiking trails.

If you camp the Western United States, you can check out the Sno-parks nearest to you at Sno-parks.com.

Camping is FREE so are the services are minimal. If you PACK IT IN - PACK IT OUT! This will keep the area clean and the fees to a minimum.

Just found a great new magazine for camping-

Mat July 30, 2010 at 5:07 am

That being said, I don’t doubt that there may very well be something to that, but I also tend to think it’s more likely to be barbecue grills and bon fires and that kind of thing than it would be fireworks.

Camping season is just about here and hopefully it will be another great year in the great outdoors. Now is the time to look to stock up on equipment and reservations as there are some great deals out on the web. I am looking to replace a backpacking tent and there are some great deals at http://www.campsforless.com and gigatent.

TJQ February 3, 2011 at 10:47 am

Great site with lots of information. Ive started a directory for great campgrounds in Ontario, Canada. Check them out if your passing through! Happy camping!! Here a quick campint tip for you… Some cardboard strips soaked in parafin wax, make great camping fire starters, when its yukky out!!

Jason February 11, 2011 at 11:09 pm

Hey guys… I ran across another cool site… it’s a little site but I liked it’s message.. but it seeking to get members to create a database of user approved campsites… you can submit your campground, hiking spot, fishing spot, or anything outdoors in a database for others to use as a resource… I am planning a backpacking trip to Michigan and googled it and it has a several campsites and each place on it has a pretty lengthy description written by people that have been there… I don’t know… maybe check it out.. like I said, it’s small.. but cool.. you can become a member too which has a forum like facebook where you can connect and sell gear or ask advice about different regions or places to camp

Now is the time to get out or buy your camping equipment! There is no fun like summer fun and camping near the ocean, a river or lake! Being at the beach is the best and waking up to the sound of the waves washing up on the sand. Enjoy your family and friends and have a BBQ in your own back yard. The kids willl love camping out in the yard too! All you need is the right equipment. Check out http://www. lindassportshop.com

Smith April 3, 2011 at 10:53 am

very nice website with lot of information. It’s a busy site with lot of traffic. this site contains a lot of information about out door activities specially camping. I would like to add some thing. If you are going for any kind of outdoor activities to a deserted place, always try to keep2 person sleeping bag along with you because that would help you a lot and will give you more comfort.

Camping Tips Gus April 3, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Nice list of camping blogs. I am an avid tent camper and have a site I like that focuses on tent camping and campfire cooking tips. It even has free printable camping checklists that can be edited to suit individual camping needs. Plus their are camping equipment and camping with kids articles. If you are interested you can check it out at Free Camping Checklists

Lake District Walks April 8, 2011 at 4:53 am

A great place to go walking and camping is the Lake District National Park here in Cumbria, with some of the most scenic views in England. There is nothing better than walking the hills and fells of the untouched beautiful lakes. For me it has to be Camping Lake District and getting outdoors to enjoy this the natural splendor of the mountains.

Evans April 13, 2011 at 8:58 am

Me and my family always order food reserves from http://klassy.efoods.com when we go camping. They are super easy! All you have to do is add water and heat. Each package will feed at least four people and are as low as $9.95. We were able to enjoy the food without all the work. You can’t beat that!

daniel m April 16, 2011 at 4:18 am

what is a good menu for a camping trip of 30 guys?

Richard April 27, 2011 at 2:09 pm

We have been camping as RVers for over 30 years. Over that period of time we have encountered some of the best and some the worst that RV living, and camping, has to offer, both part time and full time. We’ve enjoyed travel trailer camping and camping with a 5th wheel, family camping as well as just the two of us and even with all of that time spent on the road, we haven’t grown tired of it. There’s so much to learn and to do and there really isn’t anything we enjoy more than traveling to a campground that we’ve never been to before and see what’s there, and at the end of the day, come back to the comfort of own RV – our home away from home. When we look out of our windows, we see totally different surroundings to the home that we love while the inside is completely familiar, warm and welcoming.

Hiking Guy April 29, 2011 at 9:07 pm

Thanks for the site. Some great information and resources! I agree with the comment about the season just about upon us. Can’t wait to get out on those trails.

I am looking for some real reviews for camping air mattresses. I totally love anything about camping. My wife and I have a few camping blogs that we recently launched. I have been camping since I was in diapers. My kids have long since grown out of diapers. We still go on a 3 week car camping trip every summer.

If you need a guest poster, give me a hoot!

Stop by and visit my some time at Campward Bound It’s a new blog. I am slowly adding content as I am mostly guest posting to build authority and credibility.
